2.    Saratoga Spa State Park

Another small pool called Victoria Pool is also used for recreational purposes.

Saratoga Performing Arts Center lies in the park ground. It has been the summer home to Philadelphia Orchestra and New York City Ballet since 1966. The SPAC amphitheater is used to host musical performances and concerts of all kinds. On the northern side of the park office, there is Spa Little Theatre, which hosts plays all year round. The peak season however is spring and summer. 3.    Canfield Casino and Congress Park

Canfield Casino is owned and operated by the city of Saratoga Springs. The casino building was built in 1870. In the year 1987, it was named National Historic Landmark. The gambling venue of yesteryears has a rich history. The Canfield Casino is the only structure which saw and survived the glory days. Now, it has Saratoga Springs History Museum. You will have good time taking the tour of the place or staying here. The dining room and ball rooms are booked for weddings and many other social events.

Congress Park is operated as a park by the city of Saratoga Springs. The park is bordered by Broadway, Spring Street and Circular Street. 4.    Saratoga Performing Arts Center

SPAC in short, hosts brilliant performances by the New York City Ballet and The Philadelphia Orchestra. SPAC Amphitheatre is one hundred ten feet high, which accommodates 5200 people inside the structure, and around 20,000 people on sloping lawns outside the amphitheatre.

The performances in summer can be classical music, jazz, pop and rock, dance and opera, along with Wine and Food Festival. The first performance hosted by SPAC amphitheatre was of George Balanchine’s – A Midsummer Night’s Dream, presented by the New York City Ballet in 1996.

5.    Saratoga Automobile Museum

This one is a must for automobile enthusiasts. The Saratoga Automobile Museum is a not-for-profit organization that was established in the year 1999. But, it only opened its door to public in 2002. Saratoga Automobile Museum is housed in a restored and renovated structure. Previously, it used to be Saratoga Bottling Plant, built in 1934.

The museum puts on display different kinds of automobile – from classic and vintage cars to muscle cars, as well as green and super cars. It also showcases history of cars in New York, automobiles’ impact on the city in the past, present and what effects it will have in future. SAM was even listed in “the top ten auto museums in the United States” by MSNBC.

There is also an area where kids can have their hands on these man-made beauties. So, it’s not just adults who would enjoy a visit to Saratoga Automobile Museum in Saratoga Spa State Park.

6.    National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame

National Museum of Dance is one of the very few museums in the world, and the only museum in the United States, that is fully devoted to the art of dance. The museum was established in the year 1986 inside, what used to be, Washington Bathhouse, and was opened to public a year later.

The National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame celebrates and pays respect to all the pioneers -from choreographers, dancers to composers, writers and patrons of dance. It has an increasing number of collections, in regards to anything connected with the art of dance, such as photographs, videos, costumes, documents and biographies. It also preserves and showcases artifacts related to the art form, from its early days.

Don’t get too surprised if you happen to stumble upon a wedding reception or a private event, as the premises of the museum also offers its intricate and beautiful venue for social occasions and gatherings.

7.    National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame

National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame (National Thoroughbred Hall of Fame) was established in 1950, as homage for American thoroughbred race horses, jockeys, trainers, owners and breeders. If you love the horses and racing, then you should take a short visit to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. It has everything you want to know about horse racing, its history and interesting memorabilia for you to take home.

This museum has both permanent exhibits and special ones.
